Young People Drinking - The Path To Alcohol Addiction
I just recently received several alcohol connected questions from Rebecca with fears concerning teenagers drinking habits, and also with concerns about what this youth culture can bring about…
So first I just want to thank Rebecca, and also add that this primarily is my very own opinion, and that all suggestions given by StopDrinkingAdvice.org is just good wholesome help and advice to help people stop drinking.
Anyhow, on to the first alcohol related question…
Do you reckon allowing people to bring their own alcoholic drinks into clubs makes sense? If not the reason why?Absolutely no, certainly not.
The entire alcohol culture is simply an excuse to make people believe that they cannot have fun without alcohol, and night clubs are generally an arena brimming with readily available addictions. Therefore I would not weaken the actual constraints already in place, I would add further restrictions to make it more difficult to purchase alcohol to start with. The real problem is that too much money is created by selling alcoholic beverages, making any improvements to safeguard people from alcohol addiction even more complex.
Do you think it is going to encourage teenagers to drink a lot more?
Well indeed it definitely will as the cheaper they can buy alcoholic beverages at, the more people will drink, so maybe like has been done with tobacco, tax on alcoholic beverages ought to be raised to help drive up the price of alcohol. Although if we are to simply concentrate on Clubs, then maybe the initial two or three beverages could be cheaper, as a way to restrict transforming a social habit into an addiction to alcohol.
Do you consider it’s going to encourage an increase in inappropriate behavior such as fighting among people while on a night out?
Now that’s another aspect of drinking, as you know that alcohol can result in violence in many people, however, not in everyone. Therefore despite the fact that alcohol can lead to violence, it is not the sole contributing factor.
What advice would you give to teens who are buying their own alcohol before going into clubs in North East England?
Alcohol must be paid a tremendous respect, and with the more one drinks, the more at risk they’re at to get hurt. When young people drink, they only need to keep complete control over their actions, and most essential of all that they can get back home safely.
I realize that there does exist a drinking tradition in North East England, however always remember never to mix alcoholic drinks, and do not drink when you have to drive. Always keep alcohol under control, and relish the nightlife available without destroying your life by simply abusing alcohol. Everything returns to good old just being sensible.
