An Alcoholics View Of Alcoholics Anonymous

StopOne of the bravest things an alcoholic will ever do is walk into their first Alcoholics Anonomous meeting and reactions and feelings about it vary from person to person.

Alcohol has made most of us feel invincible yet when you walk into an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting and hear the stories from the survivors of this disease you can’t help but feel humbled. In these meetings I have met some of the nicest, most generous people you will ever find and each of them has worked hard to get their lives to a point where they are happy without alcohol.

Understandably you might feel apprehensive at first but after a few meetings you will hopefully feel that you are a part of the group and accepted by all the members; once this happens you should recognize that you are spending your time with people who would listen to you all day and be there for you 24 hours a day.

There are Alcoholics Anonomous meetings worldwide and the success of the organization comes from knowing how to help anyone regardless of where they are coming from since the treatment is the same irregardless.

It is important to use whatever help is at your disposal, including medicine or exercise, to quit as if you don’t succeed the first time around you will have a difficult time each successive attempt.

Every year millions of people throughout the world die due to alcohol related diseases. These numbers alone should make us recognize how difficult it is for people to quit even when they recognize that it can and will kill them. Help is available for anybody that wants to stop drinking alcohol and going to an alcoholics anonymous meeting is as good as it gets. The unity between alcoholics is truly admirable and helps to really transforms an alcoholics personality, to a point that people won’t recognize them as being the same person.

If you know somebody that needs help, please make sure they do get the support and help they need to successfully stop drinking alcohol and prevent them from just becoming another dreadful alcohol related statistic.
